My pregnacy was Empowered,Enabled and well guided with a Doula
Tina; a client's pregnancy journey with Doula Wambui
Like everything else in life, it’s not so floral as many would divulge. The things no one explains as part of nature and how to manage and enjoy. About the constituents of the steps, literally one small 150mm step that feels like a staircase to heaven given the millions of things you need to know, correction, have to know and be good at albeit never having done before.
You will hear a lot of how pregnancy is the happiest excuse for feeling like crap, there being nothing better than feeling the movement of life inside you or listening to the tiny heart beat for the very first time, babies filling up a place in your heart you never knew was empty et cetera …all of these entirely true in magnitudes fathomable and some not even so!
Just like you really have no business understanding orthogonality relationships if you’re not studying Fourier series (or you’re crazy), pregnancy is similar or just almost there (sigh).
You can practice for a period of time before you’re expected to draw out the perfect curves in mathematics, in parenthood, there’s no time for that, you learn on the job, and the job is someone’s life!
It can be frightening among many other feelings; but the reality of things is that with or without support you will receive your child in your arms on the day intended by God.
Will you enjoy your experience and have the confidence beyond giving birth to be a fulfilling parent?
Questionable; Our experience with Doula Wambui was empowering & enabling.. not only did she (Doula Wambui) guide us through the never ending third trimester but helped me venture deep into what I never imagined I could do and be at birth and after.
Yes! There’s something new to learn everyday, but it is way easier when you know more than just the basics learnt from the fashionable Baby Centre and What to Expect apps, the traditional mothers’ advise that works wonders and unforgiving stories shared at baby showers.
Doula Wambui simplified the whole process, her myth busters so timely and encouraging; not just a coach and reliable professional but a respectful friend meeting you at your specific need as an individual and in your particular situation(s).
From the most difficult things like HOW TO ACTUALLY GIVE BIRTH to the ones that seem simple until you realize you actually don’t know what to eat apart from Njahi (black beans) and uji (porridge) when you start breastfeeding.
